Our Melt Filtration Systems are designed for continuous and high-pressure filtration of polymer melts, ensuring stable product quality, protection of downstream equipment, and extended service life in demanding extrusion and polymer processing operations.
The core filtration media are sintered metal fiber felt filter elements, engineered to provide high dirt-holding capacity, low pressure drop, and excellent mechanical strength under elevated temperature and pressure.

Filter Media – Sintered Metal Fiber Felt

Sintered metal fiber felt is produced by randomly layered metal fibers bonded through high-temperature sintering, forming a three-dimensional porous structure optimized for melt filtration.

  • Key characteristics:


  • Uniform pore size distribution

  • High porosity and permeability

  • Excellent mechanical stability under high differential pressure

  • Resistant to deformation and fiber migration


Typical Materials

Melt filter elements are available in the following materials depending on polymer type and operating conditions:

  • Stainless Steel (304 / 316L / 310S)

    Material selection is based on melt temperature, chemical composition, pressure, and cleaning requirements.


Operating Performance

  • Typical operating temperature:

    up to 300–500°C (material-dependent)

  • Operating pressure:

    Suitable for high-pressure melt filtration systems

  • Filtration rating:

    Typically from 1 μm to 100 μm

  • High contaminant retention capacity with stable pressure increase behavior


Filter Element Designs

Our sintered fiber felt melt filters can be supplied in multiple configurations:

All elements are designed for direct integration into melt filtration housings.


Cleaning & Regeneration

Sintered metal fiber felt filter elements are fully cleanable and reusable, supporting multiple regeneration cycles by:

  • Backflushing

  • Solvent cleaning

  • Thermal cleaning (burn-off)

  • Chemical cleaning (material-compatible)

This significantly reduces operating costs compared to disposable filter media.
